Right-of-way work is corridor work: a survey line, an easement, a utility run, or an access road that has to be opened to a defined width through solid growth — and opened cleanly, because somebody is going to inspect it, build in it, or maintain it afterwards.

This is a different job from the homeowner work, because the corridor has a width on a plat and somebody downstream depends on it. It is the work a site contractor needs done before equipment can reach the pad, a developer needs to open a survey line through a fresh parcel, a utility or telecom crew needs to get back into an easement that has grown shut, or a property manager needs to keep a right-of-way passable under contract.

Material is ground where it stands rather than pushed into windrows on the adjoining owner’s side, the ground down the line is not torn open, and the corridor comes out to the width on the plat rather than to whatever the blade happened to do.
