Land clearing is the job where the ground has to end up bare: trees down, stumps and root balls pulled, and the debris hauled off the property instead of left on it. That is different work from forestry mulching, and on lots headed for a house, a barn, a shop pad, or a driveway it is usually the work you actually need.
Land clearing
Forestry mulching grinds standing growth into a mulch layer and leaves the root systems in the soil. It is fast, it is easy on the ground, and it is the right call for reclaiming overgrown acreage you want to use and look at. What it does not do is give you bare, gradeable dirt — the stumps and roots are still down there.
Full land clearing is the other end of that. Trees come down and off, stumps get pulled rather than ground at the surface, and the brush, roots, and debris leave the property instead of staying on it as ground cover. What you are handed back is open ground with the stumps out of it — the condition a grading contractor, a septic crew, or a builder needs the lot in before they can start. Wyatt does the clearing and the haul-off; the finished grade is the next trade.
Plenty of Upstate jobs use both. A common pattern on a wooded parcel is a mulched perimeter — sight lines, a driveway corridor, the wood line pushed back — with a fully cleared footprint in the middle where the building is going. Wyatt walks the property with you and marks which part gets which treatment before anything starts.
